What is Balarishtam ?

Categorized under arista preparations, balarista is used for many diseases occurring due to vata imbalance in the body. One such wonderful ayurvedic formulation that mainly focuses on neural disbalance and rheumatic problems owing to Vata imbalance is Balarishtam. Its acts as a neuroprotective and can help in controlling various nervous and musculoskeletal disorders

It's very potent in clinical conditions like insomnia, emaciation poor circulation, anxiety constipation, dry skin, cracking joints,  headache, lower back pain, poor digestion,  and psychological problems. Loaded with powerful and potent anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, cardioprotective, anti-paralytic, anti-stress, and adaptogenic properties, balarishtam as the name indicates, gives strength to muscles, bones, and ligaments 

Its major pharmacological actions help in treating paralysis, arthritis pains, and spinal issues. What are the ingredients of balarista and How To Make it?

Ingredients:

Kwatha (decoction ) Dravya:

·         5 kg Bala – Sida cordifolia

·         5 kg Ashwagandha – Withaniasomnifera

·         90 gm Eranda (Castor Oil Plant) – Ricinus communis

·         90  gm Ksheera Kakoli(Lilliumpolyphyllum ) 

·         45 gm Elaichi (Cardamom) – Elettaria cardamomum

·         45 gm Prasarini – Paederiafoetida

·         45 gm Lavanga (Clove) – Syzygium aromaticum

·         45 gm Rasna – Pluchea lanceolata

·         45 gm Ushira or Khas (Vetiver) – Vetiveriazizanioides

·         45 gm Gokshura – Tribulus terrestris

Prakshepa Dravya:

·         15 kg Jaggery

·         750 gm Dhataki – Woodfordia fruticosa

·         50 litres Water – for preparing decoction

Method:

·         Wash and dry all the herbal ingredients.

·         Submerge all the herbs in flowers in the mentioned quantity of water.

·         Boil till the decoction reduces to 1/4th.

·         Slightly cool the decoction and filter it to remove the herbal parts.

·         While the decoction is slightly warm, add dhataki flower and jaggery and give a good stir to everything.

·         Pour everything into the asava vessel, seal it with a clay-smeared cloth, and leave it for 30 days undisturbed.

·         After the completion of 30 days, store the liquid for future use in bottles.
